What perfect weather for our Lunch Cruise with Waterways Cruises! The captain shared such interesting facts about Seattle and pointed out sites as he ferried us around Lake Union and Lake Washington.
The lunch served was delicious and all the crew were kind and helpful. We “launched” out and had a wonderful time! Thanks for driving us there, Ron
Annual Summer’s End Picnic, 2024!
Here we are at our Annual Summer’s End Picnic at Seahurst Beach Park. No rain, no hail, (like the day before) but a breeze from Alaska that had a few of us shivering until the sun reached our picnic area.
All staff were needed to prepare and transport residents to the park and resident volunteers helped serve the meal. It was hard to leave! Great time had by all!
2024 July 4th Celebration!
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for our July 4th Celebration! You just cannot sit still with music playing that has a familiar beat! That was thanks to the musician, Lauren Petrie. Veterans hoisted a new flag, and we remembered what the holiday represented. The quilt raffle generated a good amount for the 2 veteran charities for which we were raising funds. Our picnic box lunches reminded us of picnics past with its tasty salads & chicken. Thank you BPP for an enjoyable afternoon!
New Year’s Eve Party 2024
Our New Year’s Eve Party was all about ringing in 2024 with our friends & neighbors! The celebration included plenty of food (of course!), games, and goofiness at the photo booth! We all now own 2 squares on the Huskies vs. Longhorns football pool, so a little added incentive for all of us to root on our team in tonight’s Sugar Bowl! 2024…….BRING IT ON!!
Santa Claus was in town!
Santa arrived at BPP and was happy to pose with anyone who wanted to sit by him. Besides remembering the greatest Gift of all, Christmas is about fellowship and food shared with friends and our Christmas Dinner certainly supplied that. “All Catering” and team did a good job and together with our staff, it was a well-executed event!
Christmas Party FUN!
What is more fun than a lively party? Well, our Christmas party was both lively and FUN! Our Singing Group started us off on the right note with their songs, then we all got jingle bells to use as our own percussion. We played some great games that had everyone laughing and contributing. The true stories behind a few of our best-loved traditional Carols were heard before we sang them and we enjoyed delicious snacks, including a wassail, that not only tasted delicious, but put such an enticing aroma in the air. Thanks to the many helpers who made the event a success!
2023 – Fall Bazaar!
The culmination of a year’s preparation and planning: BPP Fall Bazaar!
So many lovely and practical items were for sale that had been lovingly created by our residents. Delicious soups, including Ron’s famous Wild West Chili plus all the homemade cookies, kept everyone warm and fed. The raffle of two amazing quilts helped generate funds as well.
ALL Profits will be divided between two local charities, “Rebuilding Together” and “New Futures”.
Special thanks to our residents who provided live music for us to enjoy!
“Introduction to Pickleball” class
Yesterday the weather held on for us to learn a little about the rules & techniques of playing pickleball! Master pickleball instructor Tom Grubb led us through our “Introduction to Pickleball” class, and now we can officially enjoy our brand new, spectacular pickleball court with friends! Now we just need to practice hitting it over the net and not losing any balls in the surrounding trees! Oh well, practice makes perfect, right?
Fall Colors Trip to Gold Creek Saloon
We took part in another of Ron’s scenic drives through Mt. Rainier National Park & Wenatchee National Forest to reach our lunch destination at Gold Creek Saloon & Restaurant in Naches, WA! Awesome views, a tasty lunch, and of course, there’s always time for a little ice cream on the way home!
A field trip with owner, Ron Steinman, is always an adventure!
Residents enjoyed a wonderful trip to Crystal Mountain for a ride on the Mt. Rainier Gondola and lunch at The Summit House Restaurant with stops at Tipsoo Lake and Wapato Outdoors for ice cream, of course. The weather was beautiful …. and the company was even better!
